I just finished a movie that I want to see for so long. The Antitrust (2001).
![]()
It is a totally geek movie. About a garage geek programer in Silicon Valley versus a monopolistic IT company ran by a guy who's like the combination of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.
The IT company in the movie called NURV is planning to introduce a new service named SYNAPSE for people to sync and communicate through satallite networks. sounds like the "Cloud Computing" technology that we are using now with the google apps and the coming Mobile-Me service of Apple (It's really amazing they have the idea of this tech in this movie in 2001 when the internet was just about web1.0 html codes and Yahoo! was still the leading search engine.).

(Yeah, this guy as the CEO of NURV. Looks like Bill Gates and behaves like Steve Jobs.)
Once SYNAPSE is done, NURV will be likely controll the world with this new technology. The geek who has the religion of Open Source discovered the secret behind the whole thing and decided to stand up and fight against the monopoly. So in the end the geek won and the Bill X Steve guy was put in jail.
I can't believe that I almost cried when in the end I heard the Open Source geek said, Human knowledge belongs to the world. (Totally geek.-_-b)
I know I'm geeky. But you should really take 2 hours for this movie if you believe in Open Source just like me.
I'm planning to change to Linux and Openoffice for my work now. Join me.
You don't want to be rule by a software company right?
